About the book

Practical singing, from someone who has trained voices for years

Most singers keep learning songs but still feel stuck. Conquer the Art of Singing goes after what actually holds a voice back — the habits, the fear and the small details that separate a good voice from a trained one.

It is written for singers at every stage: the hobbyist who wants to sing with confidence, the student preparing for auditions, and the performer working in the studio and on stage.

A taste of what’s inside

Three tips from the book

Tip 10 of 12

Finish every line as carefully as you start it

Sing the last word of a line with the same breath and attention as the first. Endings are where listeners hear the difference.

Tip 11 of 12

Get the Urdu sounds right

Words like zindagi, khwaab and ghazal need the correct z, kh and gh. A hard “j” or “k” makes even a good voice sound untrained.

Tip 12 of 12

At soundcheck, ask for more of your own voice

One small request at soundcheck changes how well you sing on stage — because a singer who can’t hear themselves starts to push.
